We always welcome new features to LinkedIn Company Pages. Especially those that are designed to help capture leads, and in turn, we hope for new business opportunities.

They are quick and easy to set up, which is a big plus but does come with some limitations. We are confident that they will evolve and address the few concerns. 

The Lead Gen Form will appear below the About section of your Page in Member View only. 

When a LinkedIn Member visits your Page, they can complete the Lead Gen form, which will populate with their LinkedIn details.  

How to Create A Lead Gen Form for Your Company Page

Setting up the Lead Gen Forms on Pages can only be done by Super Page Admins, Content Admins, or Lead Gen Form managers. 

This task should only take around 15 mins. 

To create a Lead Gen Form for your Page: (details can be found on LinkedIn Help Lead Gen Form Set-Up)

  1. Access your Page admin view.
  2. Click the  Edit Page button.
  3. From the Leads section on the left, click Lead gen form.
  4. Turn on the toggle next to the Lead gen form.
  5. Select a call-to-action from the Choose your CTA dropdown.
  6. Enter your Privacy policy URL (required).
  7. Enter your Headline and Body Copy.
  8. Click the Save button in the top right.

Lead Gen Form Tips for Copy To Convert

The first thing you will notice when you work through the set-up steps is that you don’t have a lot of characters in each field. This means you need to get concise and clever to make the most of the Headline and Body Copy field. 

Think about how you can capture attention. You can edit after you publish, so don’t be afraid to experiment. 

Maybe you have an upcoming event that you would like to promote or a new course. Ultimately this should be a strong Call-To-Action.

Tip: Use the Preview field to get an idea of how it all looks together.

Where do I find the Lead Gen Form leads?

After members fill out your Lead Gen Form, you can download your leads:

  1. Access your Page admin view.
  2. Click Analytics on the top menu, then select Leads from the dropdown.

30 day analytics Lead Gen Form

There is no activity notification if a lead completes the form. So you need to keep an eye on the “New Leads” on the 30 days analytic summary on the Page Admin View. 

These leads will disappear after 90 days, so you must download them. 

Be aware that the leads disappear after 90 days so you will need to make sure they are routinely downloaded. 

We look forward to when the Lead Gen Forms evolve with notifications. This is a new feature that won’t make a massive difference to Pages that are not getting visitors. Getting more traffic to your Page will always be the focus.
