Grow Your Business on LinkedIn while you sleep

Grow your business on LinkedIn while you sleep.

Imagine this. Your alarm goes off in the morning and you reach over and grab your phone. You turn the alarm off and then do a quick check of your phone to see what LinkedIn notifications have come through overnight.

Are you excited or are you disappointed?

Recently I shared a post on what my LinkedIn notifications looked like for just one morning. These are some of the opportunities that came in across all the different time zones.

✅ Bunch of connection requests (thanks Rachel Simon and Louise Brogan for your shout outs in your training sessions)

✅ 2 podcast guest opportunities

✅ 3 intro calls

✅ People have let me know they bought Business Gold: Build Awareness, Authority and Advantage with LinkedIn Company Pages. Buy here on Amazon.

✅ Been tagged in posts to offer my expert opinion on LinkedIn Pages questions.

✅ Had my podcast promoted generously and that opened up a new community (Regina Larko thank you)

This isn’t a one-off this happens to me most days.

As I get my beauty sleep, LinkedIn works to grow my business 24/7 and it can for yours too.

Growing Your Business on LinkedIn is as Easy as 1,2,3

Let me just premise the following that whilst it is as easy as 1,2,3 this doesn’t mean success has happened overnight. Far from it. I have been using LinkedIn for almost a decade and more importantly, building B2B Growth Co for around 3 years.

It has taken time, effort, focus and a commitment to continuous improvement. Monitoring what works, what doesn’t and adjusting along the way.

When I made the career switch to become a business owner, LinkedIn trainer and Company Pages Expert, I had to endure months of near-silence as I built my new community. I share this for those of you that are just starting out and feeling discouraged. Don’t give up. As I said earlier it takes time.

If you want to speed up the process and build growth opportunities then follow these three tips.

1) Focus on your niche and be the best at it.

Narrowing your focus to win more business seems counter-intuitive at first. By becoming focused it can feel like you are actually excluding potential opportunities. This is especially the case when you first start out and have bills to pay.

Why do it?

You establish yourself as a go-to authority on the subject. As your content aligns with this niche you will become the obvious choice. Your community will recognise your expertise and help to generate referrals and spot opportunities to join conversations.

Be a positive contribution and always thank the people that tag you into posts. A little acknowledgment can go a long way.

2) Share your knowledge as LinkedIn content generously

When you share content generously, you help others be successful. Some may never be clients but this doesn’t mean they won’t mention your name in a room when you aren’t there.

The advantage of creating content on Linkedin is that it’s available for people to consume at a time that works for them. It’s not restricted by time zone or by geography. For small businesses another advantage of creating LinkedIn content is you can reach potential clients on a much larger scale than is possible one on one.

3) Support Your LinkedIn Community

What I’m most proud of building on LinkedIn is my unofficial cheer squad. I know when I’m fast asleep they are out there putting my name forward if the topic is related to LinkedIn Company Pages.

My cheer squad is even made up of my theoretical Linkedin competitors such as other LinkedIn trainers. Why would they do this for me? Easy – I do it for them. I approach LinkedIn with the mindset of abundance and generosity and if there is a better person for the job I will make the referral.

My time on LinkedIn is heavily focused on supporting others to be successful.

This is how LinkedIn content and my LinkedIn community works for me even when I’m not online.

If it’s not working for you like this and you too want to generate opportunities whilst you sleep then reach out and let’s talk through investing in you or your business with a training or strategy session.
